It has just been around sixty days since Apple’s new tablet PC – the iPad hit the shelves in the international market. Within these sixty days it has been groundbreaking news to hear from an Apple spokesperson that they have already managed to sell off 2 Million units. Since its launch on April 3rd, the Apple iPad has spread its wings across the United States, Canada and Japan. Within the last weekend, they went on sale throughout Germany, France, Australia, India and the UK. By the end of June, the iPad is said to be made available in nine more countries where its sales are expected to fly off through the roof.
What is really surprising to see is that apart from the hype that created rumors about the iPad not being able to live up to its standards and the fact that it had features which were very similar to the iPhone and iTouch, it has yet managed to do successful well around the world. The main reason for its success is due to the reviews that have come in from satisfied users who explain it as the ‘perfect alternative to a laptop’. The Apple iPad is said to be a large screen touch screen interface that is well capable of carrying out advanced task. Combine this with the number of applications available from the App Store; the iPad has managed to live up to everyone’s expectations. Steve Jobs, CEO for Apple Inc. was quoted saying “we appreciate the patience of our buyers, and we are working hard to build enough iPads for everyone.” By the end of 2010, Apple has aimed to sell out their iPads making sure to surpass the number of iMacs they have managed to retail. With 2 Million iPads already sold off into the market, there is no doubt that the future in the world of technology is the tablet series of computers.
